Great Silk Road Tour
Day 1 Tashkent
Arrive to Tashkent's airport.
Day 2 Tashkent – Khiva
Breakfast at the hotel. 07:00 flight to Urgench, transfers to Khiva (30km), settlement at the hotel. Full day city tour around
Ichan-Kala architectural complex (12-19th c.), the Residence of the last Khan including Ismail Khodja Mausoleum, Mohammed
Amin Khan madrassah, Kunya-Ark Castle (16-17th c.), Kalta Minor tower, Tash-Hovli Palace (19th c.), Pahlavan Mahmud
Mausoleum(14-18th cc.), Juma Mosque (10th c.) Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Khiva – Bukhara
Breakfast at the hotel.Road trip to Bukhara via desert Kyzyl-Kum along Caravan road 6-7 hrs). Arrival Bukhara.
Hotel accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 Bukhara
Breakfast at the hotel City tour in Bukhara: Citadel Ark (4th c. BC), Samanides Mausoleum (9-10th c.), Chashma Ayub(14th c.),
Bolo-Hauz Mosque (beginning of the 20th c.), Coumpol bazaar, Medreseh Nodir-Divan-Beghi, complex Lyabi-Khauz
(14-17th c.), Minaret Kalon (12th c.), Kalyan Mosque (12th c.), Medreseh Miri Arab (16th c.). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 Bukhara
Breakfast at the hotel. A trip out of the city for a visit to Bahouddin Nakshbandi mausoleum (16-19th c.), to the sepulchers of
his mother and his preceptor (14th c.), mausoleum Chor-Bakr (10th c.), visit to summer residence Sitorai-Mokhi-Hossa
(19th c.). Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 6 Bukhara – Shakrisabz – Samarkand
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Shakhrisabz (290 km, 4 hrs). City tour: ruins of
Ak-Saray Palace (14-15th c.), Dor-ut Saodat
complex (Khazratiy Imam Mosque (14th c.), Jahongir mausoleum (14th c.),
Dor-ut Tillavat complex: Gumbazi-Seiidan, Kok
Gumbaz Mosque (15th c.) Continue to Samarkand (110 km, 2 hrs).
Hotel accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 Samarkand – Penjikent – Samarkand
07:30 AM departure from hotel, breakfast prepared by hotel for the road.
Transfer to Penjikent, (45 minutes). Arrival
Uzbekistan – Tajikistan border, meeting with Tajikistan guide, border crossing, continue to Penjikent. City tour in Penjikent
(5 hours)
Returning to Tajikistan – Uzbekistan border, crossing the border, transfer to Samarkand (approximately at 17:00).Overnight
at the hotel.
Day 8 Samarkand
Breakfast at the hotel.Full day city tour in Samarkand: Registan square - Medreseh Ulughbek (15th c.), Medreseh Shir-Dor
(17th c.), Medreseh Tilla-Kori (17th c.), Ulughbek Observatory (15th c.). Excavations and museum of the ancient city of
Afrosiab, Architectural complex Shakhi-Zindeh (11-15th c.), Mausoleum Guri Emir - Tamerlane's Tomb (14-15th c.),
Bibi-Khonum Mosque. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Samarkand – Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel.Drive to Tashkent. Hotel accommodation. Time of leisure.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 Tashkent – Fergano
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Ferghana via Kokand thru Kamchik Pass
(where they can stop for photos shouting
and short walk): visit Khudayar Khan palace, Mir Mosque, Dahmai Shahon Mausoleum.
Transfer to Rishtan to see
private pottery workshop. Departure to Margilan: visit Yudgorlik Silk factory.
Drive to Ferghana. Settlement at the hotel.
Day 11 Fergana – Osh
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Uzbek – Kyrgyz border point, passes the border. Meeting the tourists at the border
with ESG and transfer to Osh. Lunch at the local restaurant.City tour: Holy Suleiman Mountain, Babur’s Mausoleum,
Great Silk Road Museum and museums Alymbek Datka.Dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight at the guest house.
Day 12 Osh – Chichkan – George
A.M. After breakfast drive to Chichkan George. On the way visit to Uzgen Minaret, Djalal-Abad and Toktogul water reservoir.
P.M:.Lunch on the way. Arrive and accommodation at the motel. Dinner and overnight at the motel. Toktogul Reservoir
A small town located on the Northern shore of the Toktogul Reservoir – named for it’s famous son – the akyn Toktogul
Satilganov (1884 – 1933). The reservoir was crated in 1974 – after 14 years construction work on the Toktogul Dam was
completed – when the Ketmentube valley was flooded. Some 26 communities were displaced and relocated along the main
road which was forced to swing round the Eastern end of the reservoir when the valley was flooded, and the archaeologists
completed several excavations of barrows dating from the 8th and 9th centuries. The southern reaches of the reservoir is
in the form of a flooded canyon which is about 0,3 – 2 km wide – and can reach as much as 100 m deep. Elsewhere there
are many shallow areas with abundant vegetation, which serves as a habitat for wildlife.
Day 13 Chichkan – George – Bishkek
A.M: After breakfasttransfer to Bishkek. P.M. Upon arrival to the Bishkek accommodation at the hotel.
Lunch at a local restaurant. City tour: Main Square, Historical Museum, Oak Park, open air picture gallery and TSUM.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, is a young, green city located where the Kazakh steppe meets the foothills of the majestic
snow-capped Tien-Shan Mountains. Bishkek was founded in 1825 as a military fortress; however, it has since turned into a
modern political, business, scientific, and cultural center of the Kyrgyz Republic. The city, while beautiful at any time of the year,
is at its best in spring, when the central squares are covered with red tulips and daffodils. People say there are few cities in the
world that can rival Bishkek for its greenery. The city is home to about 20 parks, one of the largest being Oak Park. This park
was created in 1890 by the Russian botanist Fetisov who had been invited specifically to beautify the city.
Day 14 Bishkek – Issyk-Kul
A.M. Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Issyk-Kul. On the way, excursion to Burana Tower. Lunch at a local Kyrgyz family’s house.
P.M. Excursion to open air petrogliph’s field near Cholpon-Ata Accommodation at the hotel. Dinnerand overnight at the hotel.
Lake Issyk-Kul
Issyk-Kul means “hot lake” because it never freezes in winter. Located 1609 m above the sea level, Issyk-Kul is the second l
argest mountainous lake in the world after Titicaca. There are thermal springs and mud bath centers on the lake. There is a
wide variety of resorts, with excellent beaches and fantastic clear water for swimming. Ancient cities existed here along the
Great Silk Road, before the Mongolian Invasion, and their ruins still contain many secrets. Stone inscriptions up to 6 thousand
years old arespread around the region and can be easily viewed in Cholpon-Ata Open Air Museum of Petroglyphs.
Day 15 Issyk-Kul – Grigorvev Gorge – Karakol – Jety -Oguz - Karakol
A.M. Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Karakol. On the way excursion to Grigoryev Gorge. P.M. Upon arrivallunch at a local r
estaurant. Accommodation at the hotel.City tour: old colonial houses, Dungan Mosque, Russian Otthodox Church and Sunday
Cattle Market. Excursion to Jeti-Ogyz Gorge. Return to the Karakol.Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the guest house.
Grigorievskoe Gorge.
It is one of most popular excursion places, and with reason. The gorge is very narrow and picturesque, the powerful river
breaks through a stone barrier with a roar, aspires to give back its waters to the divine creation of nature - Issyk-Kul lake. In a
wood zone of gorge and close to the river you can find many medical herbs and berries. Also this gorge is famous for its
"crying rocks".
Djety-Oguz gorge
About 35 km south west of Karakol city is a lush valley with striking red sandstone rock formations (the «seven bulls» from which
the valley takes its name). As you approach the valley, you pass another rock formation which resembles a «broken heart» and
legend says that this is the heart of a beautiful woman who died of a broken heart after two suitors killed each other fighting over
her. These two rock formations have become symbols of the Issyk-Kul region and are favorite images for photographs and paintings
Day 16 Karakol – Almaty
A.M. After breakfast drive to Almaty. On the way crossing the border. P.M Lunch box en route. Stop at Charyn Canyon. Upon
arrival accommodation at the hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17 Almaty
Full day S/S tour in Almaty: Panfilov Park, Orthodox Cathedral, Great Patriotic War Memorial, National Musical Instruments
Museum. Republican Square, State History Museum. P.M. Lunch at a local restaurant. Excursion to Kok-Tyube.
Day 18 Almaty Airport
Check-out from the hotel and transfer to the Airport for the flight to Europe
